I've just upgrade my X.org stack 7.2 to 7.3 and display output became garbaged (screen unreadable but mouse cursor was correctly display), until I added Option "DisplayPriority" "BIOS" (it wasn't needed with ati driver 6.6.3) to xorg.conf Hardware : * Card:ATI Radeon 9250 and earlier: ATI Technologies Inc|RV280 [Radeon 9200 SE] [DISPLAY_VGA] (vendor:1002 device:5964 subv:1787 subd:5964) * Sony monitor SDM-X82 connected using DVI output I'm attaching Xorg log when DisplayPriority is set and not set to BIOS.

I did a quick tarball bisection and regression got introduced between 6.6.3 and 6.6.191
Additional informations : modeline is the same between 6.6.3 and 6.8.0, when displaypriority is set or not : "1280x1024" 108.00 1280 1328 1440 1688 1024 1025 1028 1066 +hsync +vsync I'm attaching output of radeontool regmatch '*' in the various cases
Created attachment 15420 [details] registry list with ATI driver 6.6.3 (working without specifying DisplayPriority)
Created attachment 15421 [details] registry list with ati driver 6.8.0 when DisplayPriority is not set => corrupted display
Created attachment 15422 [details] registry list with ati driver 6.8.0 when DisplayPriority is set to BIOS => display is not corrupted
Is this still an issue with KMS or a newer version of the driver?
Unfortunately, I don't have this setup handy. Let's consider it fixed and I'll reopen if I can access the system where I had the issue.
