X log

This is actually a follow-up after the discussion with Matthias Hopf.

The problem is that after starting X without specifying "Option HPD off" in xorg.conf, the server won't switch back to text terminal correctly. After pressing <Ctrl>+<Alt>+<Backspace> or switching using <Ctrl>+<Alt>+<F1> the screen enters power-save mode.

Log file attached where "Option HPD off" has been commented out and where the problem occurs.

Please also provide a verbose log without the option. HPD is not the root cause, it's something else, something in the way the modetree is laid out.

Reassigning to reporter for feedback.

Better description for both logs.

Assigning back.
Comment 6 Egbert Eich 2008-04-06 04:07:41 UTC
The only difference between the two runs I can see is that in the case where HPD is used we do DACASense twice (due to a different presence detection algorithm).

However your code is rather old. Martin, would it be possible that you build the lastest version of the sources from git and use it as a basis for testing?
We would need you to do some tests (and apply patches to the code for us).
It's easier to do with the latest code.
You can find information on how to build the code on:
http://wiki.freedesktop.org/wiki/radeonhd.
Assigning to reporter for feedback. Please assign back to us when done. Thanks!
Comment 7 Martin 2008-04-07 09:47:41 UTC
I build from git and noticed that the bug does not occur in the latest version. Thank you.
Comment 8 Martin 2008-04-07 09:48:37 UTC
Already fixed in latest version.
