Description Eric Smith 2008-05-07 16:16:25 UTC
Firefox 3.0b5 immediately crashes upon starting the flash player.
Comment 1 Pavel Roskin 2008-05-07 16:32:43 UTC
No crash here. Firefox 3.0 beta 5 from Fedora development, all other packages are from Fedora development, x86_64, git version of swfdec and swfdec-mozilla.

Please run "firefox -g" - that would run firefox in a debugger. Once it crashes, use "bt" to capture the backtrace. If using Fedora or a similar distro, please use debuginfo-install to install debug information for the involved software.

I can run the flash in the standalone player. Please try it to find out if the plugin and firefox have anything to do with the problem. Right click on the plugin area, select "Properties", select URL, copy it to the clipboard with Ctrl-C. Run a GUI editor like gedit, paste the URL, save the file. Run swfplay URL, make sure to use single quotes to avoid shell expansion.

Since the crash seems to be related to Cairo, I thought I'd note I'm running version 1.6.4.

Crashers are severity critical.
Comment 5 Eric Smith 2008-06-16 08:02:48 UTC
The video no longer crashes (still doesn't work though).
