Description Maciej Piechotka 2008-05-08 05:19:14 UTC
On many pages there are flash ads - usually centered. We all love them ;)
The close buttons are, intentionaly or not, often broken.
Is it possible to add to a right-click-menu[1] an option 'close', which would just close this window?

[1] This one with 'play'

I like that idea! Would be great if possible to implement.
Comment 2 Benjamin Otte 2008-05-08 15:09:15 UTC
Besides the fact that this is rather complicated to implement if at all, it's a browser problem, not a Flash problem. And Swfdec is not an ad-blocker, but a Flash player.

I guess this bug should be filed with Adblock?
Comment 3 Rafał Miłecki 2008-05-08 15:18:16 UTC
I was told that browser can not manage RMB menu and that this menu is 100% controlled by plugin. Moreover I think this request is not only about ads. Sometimes user may want to close animation which is just some unnecessary part of page earing (annoying/CPU-eating/sound-making).
Comment 4 Benjamin Otte 2008-05-08 15:23:51 UTC
Indeed, but the RMB menu being controlled by the Flash player is a browser bug, too ;)
And removing parts of the content of a webpage is definitely a browser problem, not a Flash problem.

We can talk about this when movie players start showing ads...
