Xorg start correctly, but after unloging fail. Is impossible switch to console or do anything (screen remaining black), only option is use power button (working correctly, acpid).

Kernel: 2.6.28
Xorg: 1.5.3
VGA: FX5200, 128M RAM
Comment 1 Danny 2009-01-02 20:27:54 UTC
anything in kernel logs?

Also be sure not to have any framebuffer driver loaded.

danny

Comment 2 David Heidelberg (okias) 2009-01-03 02:17:32 UTC
no framebuffer loaded :-( and dmesg is clean
Comment 3 Stuart Bennett 2009-01-06 13:41:16 UTC
was it working previously, and if so what changed to break it?

also, does it start to work again if you wait at the black screen for a *really* long time (~2 mins)? I saw something like this as fallout of the PAT stuff in 2.6.27 and worked around it with the nopat command line argument, but I'd hope it was fixed in .28.
Comment 4 David Heidelberg (okias) 2009-01-07 14:13:48 UTC
I have already 2.6.28, but problem isn't still fixed. I will try wait few minutes :-)
Comment 5 David Heidelberg (okias) 2009-01-13 13:37:12 UTC
Problem probably disappeared after update few X libraries.
