Hello! I have here an Lenovo Thinkpad X200 Tablet. I am not sure if this bug is for xorg or hal. I am using Gentoo Linux with 64-Bits. I installed xorg and enabled hal, as i would like to use plug & play. hal: 0.5.11 udev: 135 kernel: 2.6.28 (gentoo-sources) xorg: 7.4 xorg-server: 1.5.3 evdev-driver: 2.1.0 I removed everything about input from my /etc/X11/xorg.conf. Secondly, i created *.fdi in /etc/hal/policy/ to get use of my mouse and keyboard. I enabled "de" layout, as i am using a german keyboard. Now i got the problem, that i am unable to use any german umlauts. If i press a umlaut key nothing happends. But "de" layout is loaded, as a qwertz layout seems to be active (Y and Z are not inverted). I am really out of any ideads, why the german umlauts are note active. This config works on another computer without any problems! I am attaching my xorg.conf, hal-policy, and logs. P.S.: Sorry for my bad english. Conrad
