Description scottmc 2009-01-05 13:47:35 UTC
Here is a patch that allows cairo to be built for Haiku. Also needed would be a fresher version of config.guess and config.sub (look for a timestamp AFTER Jan 2008 which is when Haiku got added), but we can copy that in prior to building for now.
We haven't yet looked into updating the BeOS specific parts, just getting it to compile so far. More to come we hope.

Hmm, I get a 404 when following that link, can you please attach the patch? Additionally, if you could maintain a git repo with your changes that would make applying them a lot easier. (Easier == more likely to be accepted ;-)

new patch, WIP

This patch is from the efforts of umccullough , a fellow Haiku user.
The patch is a work-in-progress. IIRC, Cairo compiles successfully but does not pass all tests.

Just a note, that patch is pretty dirty as I was only using it for testing purposes.

It does compile, but tests do still crash with that patch. I have an even messier patch in progress that allows most of the tests to complete (albeit with many failures still) - which I'm still working on.

I will clean it up and provide it here when I can.

I am working directly from git, so the patch should be easier to review and apply when I've made some progress.

Tagging patch; will attempt triage later.
Comment 5 Bryce Harrington 2014-09-22 21:35:49 UTC
Closing since it has been nearly five years without further feedback regarding the changes needed to the patch. Most of the patch involves only beos code, thus is probably low risk, if it's still wanted. So, please feel free to re-open with a refreshed patch.
