If I try to run pdftoppm on some pdfs, I get the error mention in the summary. I'll attach a pdf that demonstrates this problem (I can give more examples, if needed.) Here's the command I run: pdftoppm 01.images.pdf out The error reported above occurs when ran on gentoo. I have tried various version of poppler and they all have the same problem. On windows, instead the error is reported as: Bogus memory allocation size Here's the full output (when ran on gentoo with version 0.10.4): http://puttext.com/dG
The pdf was too large to upload to bugzilla, here's a link to it: http://pdfhost.focus.nps.gov/docs/NHLS/Text/89001101.pdf
Marking it as fixed as i can't reproduce it with what will be poppler 0.10.5. Please reopen if still fails for you once 0.10.5 is released.
10.5 has showed up in gentoo and the bug is still present. Here's a link to a pdf that takes a lot less time to give the error: http://pdfhost.focus.nps.gov/docs/NHLS/Photos/86000084.pdf which might make testing/reproducing less annoying. Oh my goodness... I just realized why you weren't able to reproduce the bug. That URL I gave you should have said Photos instead of Text. That's a completely different pdf. Sorry about that. Using the URL I just gave should enable you to reproduce.
For some reason, those URLs no longer work. I've uploaded the pdf to: http://www.sendspace.com/file/y1xn8r
Ok, this one crashes, working on it
Fixed in just released poppler 0.10.6
