Created attachment 24130 [details] v6.12.0 Xorg.log Hi Before xf86-video-ati-6.11.0, X starts OK (I'm writing this using it) With 6.11.0, 6.12.0, 6.12.1, all I have is a black screen. I can still get to linux console via Alt-Ctrl-Fn and revert to 6.10.0 quite easily. Xorg.0.log shows me nothing hinting. I'm on a MacMini, G4. Gentoo ~ppc. xorg-server-1.5.3 (-r2, -r5) extract of emerge --info : Portage 2.1.6.7 (default/linux/powerpc/ppc32/2008.0, gcc-4.3.3, glibc-2.9_p20081201-r2, 2.6.26-gentoo-r1-l0 ppc) ================================================================= System uname: Linux-2.6.26-gentoo-r1-l0-ppc-7447A,_altivec_supported-with-glibc2.0 Timestamp of tree: Fri, 27 Feb 2009 18:35:01 +0000 distcc 3.1 powerpc-unknown-linux-gnu [disabled] ccache version 2.4 [enabled] sys-devel/binutils: 2.19.1 sys-devel/gcc-config: 1.4.1 sys-devel/libtool: 2.2.6a virtual/os-headers: 2.6.28-r1 CFLAGS="-mcpu=7400 -O2 -pipe -fno-strict-aliasing -maltivec -mabi=altivec" LANG="C" LC_ALL="C" LDFLAGS="-Wl,-O1" LINGUAS="fr fr_FR" MAKEOPTS="-j2"
Can you attach the xorg log from the working version of the driver?

Created attachment 24323 [details] v6.10.0 Xorg.log Sorry for the lag. Don't know what the strings that seems like a md5 sum means in the FIXED comment. I hope this is good omen.

No luck for me with what is called 6.12.1-r1 on gentoo.
Created attachment 24411 [details] v6.12.1-r1 Xorg.log (fails) (I move toward hal/evdev since last time). Next attachment is v6.10.0 with hal/evdev and that (still) works.

I have the same problem (i.e. black screen after a time delay), but have a ATI 3D Rage Pro AGP, so have emerged xf86-video-mach64-6.8.0. Any chance for similar fix for it? I have attached my Xorg.0.log.
