Created attachment 25280 [details] Xorg.0.log after upgrading to ubuntu jaunty fglrx broke and I finally tried out the open source driver for my hd3470 radeon and it seems just as broken when gdm loads all I get is a black screen expect for upper 1" or so that has ether red bits or if I ssh in and restart gdm I get green bits farther down but still all the way to top of screen I'm currently running kernel 2.6.30-rc3 fglrx can't compile its kernel module for that version so its clean of binary stuff also ended up adding in the ppa thing from ubuntu for 'Xorg on the edge' which I gather has latest -git of radeon driver also tried the radeonhd driver and got similiar results... attached will be xorg log and xorg config I can provide pictures of the display if required also

Please try removing the fglrx package completely: (II) RADEON(0): DRIScreenInit for fglrx driver
removing all fglrx related files got it to work perhaps this bug should be refiled under how xorg.conf doesn't work? cause to me if I say load radeon driver in xorg.conf I don't think it should load fglrx at all...

Nothing the config file can do about that.
