I'm using butterfly-git and I can't open chat windows with online buddies: it shows in the console: (empathy:11550): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_hash_table_size: assertion `hash_table != NULL' failed (empathy:11550): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: instance of invalid non-instantiatable type `<invalid>' (empathy:11550): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_signal_handler_disconnect: assertion `G_TYPE_CHECK_INSTANCE (instance)' failed
With today's git I can open only once per contact the chat window. After the second time I see those messages: (empathy:5192): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: invalid uninstantiatable type `(null)' in cast to `EmpathyDispatchOperation' (empathy:5192): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: instance of invalid non-instantiatable type `(null)'
thanks for your bug report. Changing the bug summary since the first part got fixed already.
This is now fixed in master. The bug was that we didn't remove closed text channel from the list of known channels and so gave Empathy a channel path which lead to nothing.
Thanks Oliver, I tested it and it seems to work well. Now when will we have offline messages in butterfly :D ?
Now I can initiate a conversation with a contact, BUT NOW the conversation window looks like an IRC chat window, i.e. my account name is shown in a right pane like if it were a users list. It only happens with MSN contacts.
