[Problem]
Freeze when power supply connected. Goes away if AGPMode set to "1".

[Original Report]
Laptop: HP Omnibook 6200
display adapter: VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Radeon Mobility M6 LY

My laptop freezes when I connect it to power supply. It doesn't freeze immediately, but after few seconds. Mouse is moving but I cannot click anthing and I cannot restart X-server or switch to other virtual console. This doesn't happen if I switch to use vesa-driver as display driver.

Everything was working fine with Hardy alpha, but after latest updates this issue appeared again.
It seems that cpu frequency scaling with dri enabled is making computer freeze. If I remove powernowd then computer works fine with dri enabled.

Just testing Jaunty 9.04 alpha-2 with my Omnibook 6200. Problem still exists, but I can make DRI and Powernowd work together by using p4-clockmode as advised in bug #80459. Should this be enabled by default for Pentium-4 laptops? This same hack works in Intrepid also.
I have installed latest Ubuntu releases with battery power only, and then make Powernowd use p4-clockmode, so I can use this computer with power supply also.

I am unable to ssh to machine when it is freezed. I don't see anything intresting in logs after freeze and reboot. Latest updates seems to change kernel power save features and my fix does not work anymore. This machine does not freeze with Mandriva 2009, but I think Mandriva does not use Powernowd. Maybe this bug is related to this https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/powernowd/+bug/48792.
Currently I am using Debian Lenny on this machine. Debian also suffers from this bug, but only if I boot with power supply connected.

Installed Jaunty to Omnibook vt6200. With default settings machine freezes when connecting or disconnecting power supply. I browsed some bug reports with this error and noticed this:
http://webui.sourcelabs.com/kernel/issues/2754

I then added to xorg.conf, devices section: Option "AGPMode" "1" . After this everything seems to be working. There seems to be problems with this laptop chipset.

Patch is against 6.12.99+git20090629.f39cafc5; I hope that's current enough.
