Description Konstantin Svist 2009-09-30 13:34:05 UTC
When I close the laptop lid, the backlight should turn off. I've verified that xfce4-power-manager (XFCE applet responsible for this) is running and sends the appropriate command (DPMSForceLevel(GDK_DISPLAY (), DPMSModeOff)) -- but the backlight stays on.
I've also tried with xset dpms force suspend which didn't do anything either.

As per recommendation from fedora-users list, I tried booting with nomodeset -- and backlight started turning off properly.

Running Fedora 11 with default driver (radeon)

Is this still an issue with a newer kernel?
Comment 3 Konstantin Svist 2010-10-19 18:34:04 UTC
works fine in the recent versions
Comment 4 Julien Cristau 2010-10-20 05:59:50 UTC
Closing then, thanks.
