Created attachment 30448 [details] empathy log I created two test accounts on jabber.cz to test some telepathy stuff. They both work fine in pidgin but I cannot get any of them to even connect using telepathy-gabble 0.8.7 from empathy.

I should add that I can connect just fine to my jabber.org and gmail.com accounts using the same setup.
Forgive me for asking, but are you sure your passwords are correct? Also, could you capture the debugging output that includes what parameters are being passed to Gabble? (Disable the account, clear the Empathy debugging window, re-enable it.) Your password should be masked.
(In reply to comment #3) > could > you capture the debugging output that includes what parameters are being passed > to Gabble? (Disable the account, clear the Empathy debugging window, re-enable > it.) Your password should be masked. IIRC the output was done with the account disabled and then I tried to enable it, should all be there > Forgive me for asking, but are you sure your passwords are correct? Heh, yeah.. I have actually tried this more than once. As the account was only created to test I guess there is no harm in telling you that the password is xxxx, try for yourself :) maybe it is just to simple for tp? Pidgin can handle it, though...
What version of Loudmouth are you using, and from which distribution? I believe there was a bug in the digest calculation code. I don't know if it's been shipped in a release yet, but Debian (and I believe Ubuntu) ship the patch.
I originally reported the problem when running ubuntu with a self-compiled loudmouth I think and Fedora 11 on the other side. Since then I have upgraded the ubuntu machine to Fedora 12 beta which has loudmouth 1.4.3 which ships with the following patches: http://cvs.fedoraproject.org/viewvc/rpms/loudmouth/F-12/
Just to note that I cannot reproduce this with telepathy-gabble-0.12.0-1.fc15.x86_64 on Fedora 15. I have created in empathy account for my jabber.cz account and just with JID and password it works as it should (Empathy complains about CACert certificate, but that's it).
Okay, so given that we've switched the XMPP library since this bug was filed, and it seems to work for Matej, I'm going to mark it WORKSFORME. Michael, if you can reproduce this with a recent Gabble please do reopen!
