Description Oystein Olsen 2009-12-06 11:46:41 UTC
The following document is rendered correctly in xpdf and acroread, but not with poppler based pdf readers (okular and evince)

http://descanso.jpl.nasa.gov/Monograph/series2_section.cfm

See for example page 4-19 (summation, greek character, equal signs in summation) and 13-26 (integral)

Works here, do you have poppler-data installed?
Comment 2 Oystein Olsen 2009-12-07 11:57:40 UTC
I have the following poppler packages installed:

libpoppler-qt2-0.12.0-3.5.x86_64
poppler-tools-0.12.0-3.5.x86_64
poppler-data-0.3.1-6.1.noarch
libpoppler-glib4-0.12.0-3.5.x86_64
libpoppler-qt4-3-0.12.0-3.5.x86_64
libpoppler5-0.12.0-3.5.x86_64
libpoppler-doc-0.12.0-3.5.x86_64

I have also created four screenshots:

Evince and Okular fails. gv also reads the file correctly.

Can you please check in Okular in File -> Properties -> Fonts to which file is the Symbol font mapped? if it is not s050000l.pfb you might want to check your fontconfig configuration, this page might come in handy http://freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/poppler

Thanks!

I removed the corresponding font-pakcage and now it works as it should.
