Created attachment 32357 [details] Xorg.0.log Enabling any mode on my DVI-D_1 makes TV displaying "Mode not supported". Same TV is driven fine with KMS. I can also use it fine with KMS and radeonhd on RV620. Tried also radeonhd on RV635 (same TV) - also works fine.
That is because DVI connector does not have DDC: (II) RADEONHD(0): Connector[0] {RHD_CONNECTOR_PANEL, "LVDS LCD1", RHD_DDC_1, RHD_HPD_NONE, { RHD_OUTPUT_UNIPHYE, RHD_OUTPUT_NONE } } (II) RADEONHD(0): Connector[1] {RHD_CONNECTOR_VGA, "VGA CRT1", RHD_DDC_0, RHD_HPD_NONE, { RHD_OUTPUT_DACA, RHD_OUTPUT_NONE } } (II) RADEONHD(0): Connector[2] {RHD_CONNECTOR_DVI_SINGLE, "HDMI_TYPE_A DFP1", RHD_DDC_NONE, RHD_HPD_0, { RHD_OUTPUT_UNIPHYA, RHD_OUTPUT_NONE } } It's weird that PANEL does have DDC while it uses AtomBIOS probably. Maybe that RHD_DDC_1 should be assigned to DVI, not PANEL?
Does this issue occur with the preferred ati driver (xf86-vide-ati)? If so, please move this to the Driver/Radeon component. Development of radeonhd has pretty much halted and development focus is on the ati driver. Please see http://www.x.org/wiki/radeonhd If the issue does not exist in the ati driver (or if there is no response to this message), this bug will be closed as WONTFIX unless someone contributes a patch.
Closing due to lack of response. Please reopen and move to the Driver/Radeon component if this issue persists with xf86-video-ati
