Description Federico Mena-Quintero 2010-02-24 13:34:12 UTC
RANDR 1.3 specifies two new mandatory properties for outputs, ConnectorType and SignalFormat.

However, many drivers don't implement these properties. In particular, ConnectorType is the only "official" way to detect which output corresponds to a laptop's built-in LCD display. Knowing this information is especially important for clients that want to present the common use cases of "laptop only display, laptop+external projector, cloned" --- without knowledge of the output which has ConnectorType=Panel, clients have to resort to heuristics like "is the output name LVDS, Lvds, LCD, etc.?"

Mass closure: This bug has been untouched for more than six years, and is not
obviously still valid. Please reopen this bug or file a new report if you continue to experience issues with current releases.
