The commit message and trivial diff explains this.

I'm not familiar at all with the papyon gnet code, so I might have gone about this in the wrong way, but this is at least an absolutely necessary workaround if HTTP proxies are to be used, in case the proxy doesn't respond, work, etc.

Olivier, could you take a look at this please? :-)

I don't know about gnet either but this seems ok
