This bug has been opened here: http://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/show_bug.cgi?id=13359 "The current evince hangs on pdf files produced by latex, either directly by pdflatex or via dvips and ps2pdf. Other pdf files work fine. The evince window opens and processor usage goes to 100% until I kill the process (or at least for a few minutes, I haven't tried letting it run longer). xpdf displays the file as expected. This is on a Turion AMD64 laptop running current Breezy. evince version: 0.3.2-0ubuntu2 libpopplerc2 version: 0.3.3-0ubuntu3 ... http://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/attachment.cgi?id=3211 pdf file from latex that makes evince hang"
I cannot reproduce this bug with current CVS HEAD versions of poppler and evince. Maybe it's fixed?
I have not had problems with opening pdflatex-generated pdf files with evince in ubuntu hoary, breezy or now dapper. The submitter doesn't say if he is running 32bit or 64bit apps (I've always used 32bit x86). I don't think this is still a bug.
Had the same issue: Evince 0.5.1, poppler 0.5.1 w/ cairo, FC5, ordinary 32-bit box. pdflatex output, as well as dvipdfm make evice to behave as described upper, xpdf works properly. In case of small stuff, it may display finally after thinking tough(100% cpu), but 0.5 page is enough to make it look like "hang".

could someone please have a look at http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=363994 ? I think it's related. I can't reproduce it with a better stacktrace :)
I can't reproduce this with a recent evince (Fedora 7), nor with kpdf, nor with the Qt4 test application. If you can reproduce with poppler 0.6 or HEAD, please re-open.
I haven't had any problems with evince since F7. This is definitely fixed.
