Description Owen Taylor 2005-08-19 14:38:09 UTC
It's hard to really write toy programs that are portable because of
the lack of well-known font names.

We should support:

 sans
 sans-serif
 monospace

on all backends and alias to appropriate things for the platform
if necessary.
Comment 1 Carl Worth 2005-08-22 17:14:07 UTC
Move bugs against "cvs" version to "0.9.3" so we can remove the "cvs" version.
Comment 2 Chris Wilson 2008-10-10 04:32:28 UTC
Moved to todo.

Should this really have been closed? If it were open, I would have found this bug much sooner while as it is, I spent quite some time trying to understand why my attempts to use "cairo:monospace" in a small test didn't work. It would be also great to avoid explicitly saying that it works in the documentation when it's not implemented for the same reasons.

Did you try "@cairo:monospace"?
