Description Elrond 2006-05-17 22:17:32 UTC
I think, it would be helpful, if either PKG_CHECK_MODULES or a new macro would
try to compile/link a simple program with the just detected flags to make sure,
they really work.

This would catch trivial issues, like the .pc file existing, but the .a/.so not
existing.

Also, many .pc Libs contain -l flags for external libraries (i.e., foo.pc
declares -lbar), so this would help packagers find missing build-time
dependencies during ./configure before getting hours into a build.

Hi,

Is there any progress on this bug?
Is there possibly a schedule for it?
