Similar to the "Categories" key there could be maybe a key that defines on which virtual desktops a .desktop file (for the desktop and start menu) will be shown. For example it could contain a list of numbers that act as a whitelist and omitting the key (and maybe optionally using a value like "ALL") would should the desktop file/start menu entry on every desktop.
