Description Luke Hutchison 2007-01-31 19:31:39 UTC
The second page of the following PDF doc renders very slowly in evince 0.6. The whole document takes a long time to open in evince 0.7.1, even if the second page hasn't been displayed yet (it seems to be pre-rendering the second page before displaying the first page). The slow rendering is probably because of the radial fills.

I'm testing on a fairly fast box, but it does seem a bit faster with the Qt4 test app (or kpdf) than with evince. I think the problem may be with the cairo backend, or possibly with cairo itself.

Provisionally assigning to cairo backend.

Poppler uses now cairo to render radial gradients, so this document renders much faster now. Feel free to reopen it if the problem is still present for you.
