Use modesetting driver and set option &#39;SWcursor&#39; to &#39;on&#39; in a custom xorg config file in /etc/xorg.conf.d. This step was already mentioned in one of the posts before, however, the next step is important to have sensible mouse pointer. Otherwise, you may mouse pointer which leaves behind very bad artifacts.</div><div>2. Use a desktop environment which uses XRender as compositing backend. KDE has an option to set it eventhough it is not default. I think XFCE has option too.
