Description Mike A. Harris 2005-05-29 01:26:09 UTC
libviaXvMC.so is a motion compensation for VIA video hardware, which
to the best of my knowledge is only produced for Intel x86 and AMD x86_64
hardware. This driver should only be built by default on platforms that
the hardware is available for.

libXvMCW.* are now also included on PPC also. I'm not sure if this
was intentional or not, but wanted to clarify wether this is also a bug
or not. I don't think there are any actual XvMC drivers for PPC currently,
however it is possible at least for someone to make 3rd party ones so perhaps
it does make sense to ship XvMC and XvMCW on ppc, even without drivers.

Does it make any sense to ship XvMC or XvMCW on s390/s390x or other platforms
that do not have video hardware present? If not, they should be disabled
there too perhaps..

TIA

libviaXvMCPro.* is now getting built and installed on ppc by default as
well.

Adding to mustfix list for R7...

fixed for monolith. for modular just don't bother building libXvMC on platforms
that aren't x86 or amd64.
