Description Mike A. Harris 2005-10-03 08:38:33 UTC
The X11R7 RC0 libXfont tarball builds libfontcache as a .so, and libXfont
gets linked to it dynamically. Both libraries then get installed on the
system. Nothing else appears to link to libfontcache, and it wasn't present
in 6.8.x. Was it added back intentionally, or just a autotoolo?

If libXfont is the only thing using libfontcache, or if it is not intended for
3rd party apps/libs to link to, it should get built static and linked direct
into libXfont IMHO.
