mockup

Let's say that you have an image that is stretched to be bigger than the slide (because you simply want to resize it, not bother with cropping etc) or you're just a bit sloppy with alignment or something; currently, the image (or object) will be shown on top of the slide boundaries.

Instead, the slide boundaries should be shown on top of the image. This could be accomplished by having a always-on-top slide border and/or a semi-transparent always-on-top black mask around the slides, so that objects that are outside the slide get "faded out". This would be a good visual cue.

Attached is a mockup that explains better than I do.

[This is an automated message.]
This bug was filed before the changes to Bugzilla on 2011-10-16. Thus it
started right out as NEW without ever being explicitly confirmed. The bug is
changed to state NEEDINFO for this reason. To move this bug from NEEDINFO back
to NEW please check if the bug still persists with the 3.5.0 beta1 or beta2 prereleases.
Details on how to test the 3.5.0 beta1 can be found at:

Thanks for new idea. I agree that it is great improvement.
Currently we can see slide boundaries through picture only if before this picture was less than slide. But often picture is initially bigger than slide. And we need do additional work: first change picture to bee too small, and then adjust as needed.
