Description pierre-yves samyn 2011-04-09 04:10:20 UTC
Hello

In principle (see the online help for Shift-Del): "Deletes the selected item(s) without putting them in the recycle bin. "

This is incorrect:
- Shift-Delete and then input *clears* the clipboard.
- Shift-Delete and then Edit > Paste (Ctrl + V) *replaces*
contents of the clipboard selection.

The online help suggests that the clipboard is not affected by this command

nota : same with Ctrl+C (copy)

Best regards

I do not understand the report at all.

@pierre-yves samyn:
You want to report a mistake in HELP information?
Comment 2 pierre-yves samyn 2011-04-20 01:22:43 UTC
I note an inconsistency between the feature and how it is described in Help.

I would prefer that the feature would be as described in Help, which is why I initially filed this report in "editing". The change to "help" is not my doing ...

I'm sorry you "do not understand at all" my report ... but also surprised because the reproduction of the problem seems easy.

Not proficient in English it may be that my description of the problem is a bit confused?

Best regards

Let's leave this report as a tracker for related reports

@reporter:
I believe we are going to get it with the spin offs
Bug 36418 - WIKIHELP: unexpected term "recycling bin"
Bug 36419 - EDITING: <Shift>+<Delete> does not work reliable as expected
So I will close this for now.
Please feel free to file additional bug reports if you believe that it's necessary.

Rainer wrote he wanted to close this, since the problem is covered in the other bug reports he mentions in comment 3. Maybe he forgot to close this?
