I cannot duplicate this bug at this time. Periodically, the Ubuntu side menu freezes when I am editing in LibreOffice writer 3.2.2. At this point, I cannot get to the file menu and so cannot save my file. All the work is lost.
Please be more informative in your bug report: - what is your ubuntu version? - where does your LibreOffice version come? From your distribution or from LibO website? - what do you mean by "Ubuntu side menu"? - have you tried to save your file by using the key shortcut ctrl+S ? Something very useful to read: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/BugReport Thank you!
I can confirm this same behaviour: Ubuntu 11.04 (Gnome) It is not limited to Writer, this happens with all of the LibO modules. The side menu is the default launcher http://www.ubuntu.com/sites/www.ubuntu.com/files/active/natty-consumer-pages/overview-fresh-launcher.jpg After using LibO for a while, usually a few minutes will do it, the launcher will open and will not close until LibO is exited.
Ubuntu, for Björn.
resolving as NOTOURBUG, this is an issue in unity. Please report in launchpad at: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity
FYI - Using LbbO 3.4 RC2 (Ubuntu 11.04 AMD64) this problem still persists. Opened issue w/Ubuntu also: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/790777
