Every time if I open an already existing document with writer the file ~/.recently-used is created as a history. I tried to disable the creation of this file but I haven't found any information how to do this. So it seems there isn't a way to do this (the problem existed already in OpenOffice).
Not sure if it is a bug nor if it is on the LibreOffice side. Changed to enhancement.
[This is an automated message.] This bug was filed before the changes to Bugzilla on 2011-10-16. Thus it started right out as NEW without ever being explicitly confirmed. The bug is changed to state NEEDINFO for this reason. To move this bug from NEEDINFO back to NEW please check if the bug still persists with the 3.5.0 beta1 or beta2 prereleases. Details on how to test the 3.5.0 beta1 can be found at: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/BugHunting_Session_3.5.0.-1 more detail on this bulk operation: http://nabble.documentfoundation.org/RFC-Operation-Spamzilla-tp3607474p3607474.html
I can't test this because LibreOffice 3.5.0 Beta 2 doesn't start as non-root. I doesn't even find the path there the configuration files of this version are stored. I will test this and all other of my tickets if there is an official release in the Ubuntu repository.
LibreOffice 3.5.0 Beta 2 is in the Ubuntu repository so I could test this now. But ~/.recently-used is still created in this version and it seems there is no option to disable this.
This could be implemented as part of Recently Used Files list enhancement in bug 61174, point 1 (?).
