Description pobosky 2011-07-05 03:37:16 UTC
I had an idea about the possibility to separate the interfaces of LO programs from their engines. This should give to anyone the choice to use another interface (see Lo if mockups) rather than the default one, so project mantainers can concentrate on engines and default interface, leaving to other (maybe external) devs the chance to make their own interface.

A little example: LO offers a limited image editing on documents (think using Writer) rather than, e.g., iWork. Imagine if can be possible to use the Gimp engine (that should be already installed) to give Writer an advanced image editor with alpha blending and layers.

[This is an automated message.]
This bug was filed before the changes to Bugzilla on 2011-10-16. Thus it
started right out as NEW without ever being explicitly confirmed. The bug is
changed to state NEEDINFO for this reason. To move this bug from NEEDINFO back
to NEW please check if the bug still persists with the 3.5.0 beta1 or beta2 prereleases.
Details on how to test the 3.5.0 beta1 can be found at:
http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/BugHunting_Session_3.5.0.-1
