Description corey.downie 2011-07-08 13:54:48 UTC
I would like to be able to set the background opacity on Form Controls.

Specifically I would like to have a transparent background for the Text Field control, but being able to set opacity % may be more flexible. This is particularly useful for form fields that are on top of an Image background, being exported to PDF as a fillable form.

This bug was filed before the changes to Bugzilla on 2011-10-16. Thus it
started right out as NEW without ever being explicitly confirmed. The bug is
changed to state NEEDINFO for this reason. To move this bug from NEEDINFO back
to NEW please check if the bug still persists with the 3.5.0 beta1 or beta2 prereleases.
Details on how to test the 3.5.0 beta1 can be found at:

Hi I'd like to vote for this bug.

One "easy" solution could be adding a transparency value to the Color Picker window perhaps?

If added to Color Picker, it would enable lots of stuff to have transparency.

This is really useful when fixing badly designed PDFs, or creating forms on top of images.

There is no voting...

That being said, never confirmed by QA - moving to UNCONFIRMED.

I can confirm that this issue still exists in 4.3.3.2: The user can change the background color of a form control, but cannot make it transparent.
