[Platform] LibreOffice Writer 3.4.3 Japanese/English Windows 7 SP1 32bit Japanese [Steps] 1. Launch Writer 2. Open "Page Style" window (Format -> Page... menu) 3. Switch to "Text Grid" tab and select "Grid (lines only)" or "Grid (lines and characters)" 4. Select "Print grid" and UNSELECT "Display grid" 5. Press "OK" to close "Page Style" window [Problem] When you open "Page preview", grid is not displayed. However, if you print the page, grid is printed. [Expected Behavior] Grid should be displayed correctly in Page Preview. Or, since "Print grid" checkbox works like child-item of "Display grid", when "Display grid" was unselected "Print grid" should be ignored. [Extra Information] Preview in "Print" window displays grid correctly.
Reproduced with master built on Debian wheezy.

As you mentioned above, it sounds reasonable to keep "Print grid" unavailable unless "Display grid" enabled. In order to achieve that, I propose a UI change that turning "Print grid" checked/unchecked when "Display grid" get checked/unchecked respectively: http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=11c4ce59cbfcae676583488b8750393c4485220d It will come with 3.5.x if anyone does not complain of it.
