When editing a cell containing text, it is not possible to apply specific styles to specific selections from the formula bar, the contextual formatting menu will only appear if one right-clicks the text selection in the cell itself Please make formatting from the formula bar possible
Thanks for bugreport What about Styles: In difference from Writer, Calc have no Character or Paragraph styles. Therefore makes no sense to apply style to part of cell. What about context menu: please, formulate it as Functionality Request (in msExcel context menu in Formula Bar works, but formatting in Formula Bar not shown)
Confirmed with: LO 3.5.5.3 Build ID: own W7 debug build Windows 7 Professional SP1 64 bit (In reply to comment #0) > When editing a cell containing text, it is not possible to apply specific > styles to specific selections from the formula bar, the contextual formatting > menu will only appear if one right-clicks the text selection in the cell itself Contextual menus are not available in formula bar - you have to use toolbar buttons (or shortcuts) to change text formatting. Interestingly, when I right-click in formula bar field all formatting defined earlier in the cell edit mode is cleared. Good that undo action is available. Is it a bug or feature?
For me it's definitely a bug, didn't bother to file it since in-cell form
atting seems totally broken right now
Changed title to "Context menu from the formula bar not working" reproduced this problem in 3.3.4 and 3.6.0
