Description Angelo Locritani 2012-04-26 07:54:07 UTC
With option "Same content left/right" unset in header property window, when changing background color the new color is applied to the odd page only.

This happens even if I open property window of the header right-clicking on a even page.

To reproduce:
open or create a 2 page long document and assign a color to header;
unset the "Same content left/right" option;
change the header background color;
the color is changed on first page only.

LibreOffice 3.5.2.2
Build ID: 281b639-6baa1d3-ef66a77-d866f25-f36d45
Running on Windows 7 Pro, SP1, 64 bit edition

The results were reproducible. If you separate the odd and even headers by unchecking the “Same content left/right” field under the header settings, then you cannot change the background of even paged headers.

Verified, confirming and prioritizing.

LO: Version 3.6.1.2 (Build ID: e29a214)

Minor: Doesn't prevent high quality work but makes it so user has to avoid using certain feature (coloring headers differently header/footer).

Low: This feature probably doesn't affect man users at all as most users don't want different colors for headers (most users don't even use headers).

None the less acknowledged that it's annoying and don't misunderstand the priority. This doesn't mean that we won't look at the bug, all it means is that when compared to more serious bugs (crashing, RAM drains, etc...) this bug isn't that serious. Developers take multiple things into consideration when choosing which bugs to address, priority is only one of those :)

Thanks for reporting.

Just to clarify steps:
open or create a 2 page long document and assign a color to header;
Go to format -> Page -> Header;
unset the "Same content left/right" option;
Click on More... button;
change the header background color;
the color is changed on odd pages only (in this case, only page 1, but if you have more than two pages it will be all odd pages).
