Problem description: Steps to reproduce: 1. Start LibreOffice, select option to create new text document 2. Switch to fullscreen (cmd-shift-J) 3. Close document (cmd-w) Current behavior: Window disappears, as does the OS X menu bar the top of the screen. There is no visible way to continue interacting with LibreOffice at this point. Expected behavior: LibreOffice switches out of fullscreen mode after fullscreen window closes. Menu bar shows up with LibreOffice and File entries in it. Platform (if different from the browser): Browser: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_8_0) AppleWebKit/537.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/21.0.1180.57 Safari/537.1
Confirming on Mac OSX 10.8 (Mountain Lion) that the Application menu bar disappears from the top of the screen. This does not completely prevent the user from interacting with LibreOffice, the application icon still apppears in the Dock and the application's own toolbar icons are still functional, but it is a problem nonetheless, e.g. there is no longer any obvious way to access the extension manager or many of the functions that are only available via the menu system. Alex
I have noticed that the problem occurs with any document type that is created subsequent to the first initial creation, full screen setting then closing of that document. This might be a duplicate of a previously reported problem, I will check. Alex
It is interesting to note that the Dock also disappears from view. In fact, both the Dock and Application Menu are still present, but hidden. I accidentally and briefly managed to get the Application menu to appear again for a few seconds, then it promptly disappeared. @Thorsten : one for you ? Alex
Related in any way to Tor's attempts to get fullscreen support working ? https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=39983 Alex
@Tor, Thorsten : any idea ? Alex
(In reply to comment #5) > @Tor, Thorsten : any idea ? > Entirely possible. So this is 10.8-only?
My patches to attempt to support "real" (in the sense of Mac OS X 10.7 and later) full-screen mode are not included in the code-base, so not related.
Unfortunately cannot commit time to this currently, thus freeing the bug for other takers.

LO 4.2 has problem too )-:
Looks fixed to me. Tested using Mac OSX 10.9 with LibreOffice Version: 4.2.0.0.beta2 Build ID: 1a27be92e320f97c20d581a69ef1c8b99ea9885d Please verify with this version (http://www.libreoffice.org/download/pre-releases/) and mark as VERIFIED FIXED Probably fixed by commit: http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=986644335c3f9e99ec3c6bebc0b75cca0acdf79b
(In reply to comment #11) > LO 4.2 has problem too )-: No, this is a different issue :). Please read the Description of this bug (for steps). The problem with grey-background is when you use the full-screen feature of Mac OSX (click at full-screen button at top right corner) (not from LibreOffice by going to cmd-shift-J).
Ow dangit, my bad. Still reproducible, even with this full-screen option. Sorry for the noise
I can confirm that this bug also affects LibreOffice 4.1.x under Linux. Affected versions tested: LO 4.1.4.2 under 64bit RHEL6 LO 4.1.3.2 under 32bit Fedora17 I can also confirm that it appears to be fixed in the 4.2.x version I tested: LO 4.2.0.1 under 32bit Fedora17 And doesn't appear to affect versions < 4.1.x: LO 4.0.6.2 under 32bit Fedora17 If you're wondering, I'm following the same steps, substituting the hotkey: ctrl-shift-j for cmd-shift-j. I also get the same behavior using View->Full Screen.
I'm terribly sorry! I apparently didn't read the original post well enough. I appear to be experiencing Bug 66864, which will be fixed in 4.1.5/4.2.0. Please ignore my previous comment. Sorry for any confusion.
FWIW, the dock also disappears until you click on the bottom of the screen. Still present in master Version: 4.4.0.0.alpha0+ Build ID: 7dc6c9af4ba313f054331f5130470d83d875bc16
