Description Frederic Parrenin 2013-02-06 10:39:21 UTC
LibreOffice is sub-optimal for an heavy use of math equations.
There is a lot to learn from the Lyx word processor on this aspect and several features could be copied:
- quick entry in math mode with the CTRL-M and CTRL-shift-M commands
- no visible source code for the equation. The source code is displayed inside the equation until the command is completed.
- direct interaction with the formula using the mouse or the arrow keys with a cursor which is displayed
- quick way out of math mode using the space key

Implementing these features would bring an important added value to LibreOffice for scientists.
