Description cesc 2013-03-27 12:54:27 UTC
I'd like to be able to create page numbers with this format:

0001, 0002, 0003, 0004 ...

I can do this in MS Word modifying the page field: {PAGE} this way: {PAGE \# "0000"}

Hi, thank you for submitting a report. I cannot find a way to have custom page numbering as you described in Writer. I tried:

1. Insert page number.
2. Double click just before the page number field.
3. In the "Edit Field" window, try to find a format that matches the one you want.

That format is not there, nor is an option for a custom format.

I also tried to go to Format-> Page and go to the Page tab. The format drop down there does not have an option for the numbering scheme.

I will change the status of this bug to NEW.

Hi

+1 for the enhancement.

Meanwhile, I propose a workaround.

I assume that your document does not contain as many pages as suggested by the format. Use two page styles:
One for 1-9 pages where you insert 000 before the field
One for pages >= 10 where you insert 00 before the field

Regards
Pierre-Yves

Thanks for the workaround but my document contains as pages as suggested by the format... Of course, I could use four styles...
