2 PNGs of bug in Track Changes and Toolbars menus

When navigating the dropdown menus in (at least) Writer and Calc, check marks that would normally appear do not.

For example, after choosing Edit > Track Changes > Record, no check mark appears next to Record.

When choosing View > Toolbars, no check marks appear next to the toolbar names, regardless of whether any toolbars are visible or not.

This creates major usability problems.

Screenshots attached.

From what I see the check marks are just white, which for usability purposes is no good. If you go to edit -> changes -> and highlight (don't clikc) "show" you can see the checkmark but these should be a different, more visible, color.

If I'm incorrect please leave additional info but I am confirming this -- hard to say if it's an enhancement request or a bug....I lean towards enhancement as the check mark behaves and looks as it was designed so, marking as

Linux Mint 14 screenshot

Hi,

I can not reproduce this behavior using Linux Mint 14 x64 with LibreOffice 4.0.2.2 (Dutch UI). Seems like this is an Unity-only bug (theme dependent).

Kind regards,
Joren

NO REPRO on Ubuntu 12.04.2 + LO 4.0.2.1

Checkmarks (e.g. Edit -> Changes -> Show) display in black for me.

What theme should one install to reproduce this bug?
Comment 8 Joel Madero 2014-02-27 22:55:19 UTC
In order to limit the confusion between ProposedEasyHack and EasyHack and to make queries much easier we are changing ProposedEasyHack to NeedsDevEval.

Thank you and apologies for the noise

Joel, putting this into NEEDINFO since we seem to need input from you about which platform you reproduced this on.

It sounds to me like a bug in the interaction between our UI rendering code in the VCL module and the underlying widget toolkit GTK/KDE/etc and the theme engine the Linux distro is using.
