Description Handyman 2014-02-17 20:10:45 UTC
Problem description:

A zoom level of 80% is usually perfect for me to view the documents, but SOMETIMES when I start up LibreOffice Writer, all documents appear zoomed out about an additional 30 percent... EVEN THOUGH the zoom indicator is still set at 80%.

I have to zoom to 110% to match the view that 80% previously provided.

This happens daily, but is unpredictable and I have been unable to reproduce it on demand.

Current behavior:
- Zoom level "view" varies when it shouldn't, even though setting stays.

Expected behavior:
- Zoom level view should match setting and remain consistent.

Operating System: Mac OS X
Version: 4.2.0.4 release

Do you still encounter the same problem with the current 4.2 version that is 4.2.3 ?

Best regards. JBF

I recently noticed that it's the **entire interface** that is changing size inadvertently, not just the text content area.

Still present in 4.2.3.
Comment 3 Handyman 2014-04-22 08:03:46 UTC
To clarify, the interface size changes I'm seeing are exactly as if the user interface scaling setting was changed.

Cannout confirm under LO V.4.2.3.3
Build-ID: 882f8a0a489bc99a9e60c7905a60226254cb6ff0
Win7 Home 64bit

As it is on my desktop, 100% are no real 100%. I've to set it up to 128% to get it straight. This is due to my widescreen 1920x1080 px resolution and the only issue I have with zoom.

Thank you for the answer. Set status back to unconfirmed.

This sounds like the setting under LibreOffice > Preferences... > LibreOffice > View > User Interface > Scaling. The default is 100%. Next time you experience a change in scaling of the user interface, check this setting and report back. This scales the entire UI and not just the document view.

Status set to NEEDINFO. Please change the status back to UNCONFIRMED once the request information is provided. Thanks. Summary edited for clarity.

When the zooming issue occurs, the value of Preferences > View > User Interface > Scaling does not change. The body of the document changes (reduces in size) significantly.

LO 4204 had some rather bad bugs on OSX. Have you updated to more recent version, and if so, is the problem still there ?
Comment 9 Alex Thurgood 2014-09-26 11:32:19 UTC
Soory, ignore my comment, for some reason, the others weren't immediately displayed.

Are you using a trackpad by any chance ? It is possible on Macbooks to zoom in and out inadvertently with the trackpad, but this doesn't change LO's page display, rather the app window.
