Dear LO devs, I am currently preparing a Writer document in which I include a lot of graphics from the Internet, e.g. from Wikipedia. For this I right-click on the graphic in my Browser (Firefox/Iceweasel), select Copy and then right-click on the target location in my Writer document and select Paste. By default, however, and against my expectations, not the actual graphic gets inserted into the document, but merely a hyperlink which references the graphic URL and loads it over network on demand. Since the performance when rendering my document suffers from this and I furthermore want to make sure the document is ligible even without an internet conenction, I make a detour and select Edit->Paste Special->Bitmap instead. Now, imagine having to do this for 100 graphics... What I am missing is a check boy in the Paste Special window that allows to set my next selection, i.e. Bitmap in my case, as the new default format for the general Paste action *for this data type*. So my suggested work flow would be: - Copy graphic in browser - Edit->Paste Special in Writer - Set target to Bitmap - *Check "Select as the new default" box* - Click OK - Copy graphic in browser - Edit->Paste - Repeat... Thank for your consideration! - Fabian
Hi Fabian, thanks for the issue and your idea. I think it would be a useful addition. > Set to Enhancement and version to inherited from OOo (behaviour as is, is here for a long long time). For time being, you might consider the following: - Ctrl+Shft+V (opens dialog) - B (sets focus on Bitmap) - Enter (triggers OK) ;) Regards, Cor
