On pc Debian x86-64 with master sources updated today, I could reproduce this. Looking at comments on Apache, I see this "... - Microsoft Excel 2007 and Microsoft Excel 2010 --> fine, charts/images are shown - Microsoft Excel 2013 --> the same as Rob has reported. - I opened the document in Microsoft Excel 2007 and saved it without any change.
