Rightclick on a toolbar brings up a context menu what contains an item "visible buttons", what shows a pulldown with all items selected for that tool toolbar, visible ones with a "button background" or a checkmark.

But "buttons" is not general enough, you also can handle visibility for 
* Drop Downs (Character style)
* Check boxes (Find Bar: "match case")
* Message fields (Find Bar)
* Input Lines (Logo)
* May be others
