Description robertdi@cox.net 2014-11-27 21:36:12 UTC
Allow user database sizing, in an individual project. My projects often need, 15 columns x 200 lines, limited by print page size. Mistakes often send cursor way off the page. Errors can leave old data in unused cells.

Being able to limit the data range would be very useful to users who do not need an unlimited range,
Comment 1 robert 2014-11-28 21:17:52 UTC
If you don't need all the data, why don't you use the limit given with the query-editor?
SELECT * FROM table LIMIT 200
Or do you need a limit for data-input?

@robertdi : please be more specific - to what are you referring exactly ?

- table view mode ?
- query result table ?
- form grid control ?
- something else ?

A slip of the finger can send the view to unused areas, possibly placing data in an unused cell, causing errors.

i would like to be able to put a "fence" around the active area.

The attachmemnt is a spreadsheet, not a database-file. Could it be it is reported for the wrong component?
Comment 5 Alex Thurgood 2014-12-15 16:58:34 UTC
Indeed.

@robertdi : the attachment is a Calc sheet, not a db. If your problem is with regard to spreadsheets, please correct the component in the report accordingly.
