When you click on a media clip in impress the media playback toolbar popups up at the bottom above the drawing toolbar and also hides the line and filling toolbar at the top. This behaviour of hiding the top toolbar and showing the bottom toolbar, causes the UI to jump up and down when you select and deselect a media clip. So the optimal solution is having the media playback replace the line and filling toolbar in its same location.
Reproducible with LO 4.3.4.1 and 4.4.0.0.beta1 (Win 8.1) Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open IMPRESS 2. Go to INSERT -> MOVIE AND SOUND and insert a sound or video file 3. (Optional if you had never activated the Media Playback in the past) Go to VIEW -> TOOLBARS -> Select the MEDIA PLAYBACK toolbar 4. Click on the media file Result: The Media Playback toolbar appears at the bottom. Through this the main window jumps up and down and this feels fitful/jerky. I would also think that it should be moved up at the top. @Jay: In the Bug Report 87794 you also propose alternatively to move the Media Playback toolbar into the Sidebar. What would prefer most, to move it into the Sidebar or at the top?
