libva has moved to https://github.com/01org/libva and the tests have been split into a separate project called libva-utils at https://github.com/01org/libva-utils.

The submodules setup is still attempting to use the old fd.o libva.  When I attempted to configure with -DBUILD_EXAMPLES=ON the "git checkout master" step in examples/CMakeLists.txt appears to hang.

Thanks for your report, libva has already moved and we will have patch to fix it.
