Description Treviño 2007-03-27 08:16:06 UTC
Hi, I've tried to test how penumbra overture demo worked using Open DRI drivers for my r300 card, I didn't hope great results from performance point of view, but after running it, navigating on quick menus and watching the intro-3d-movie I got a crash loading the game (Segmentation Faults)... Disabling most of the settings and putting all the others to "low" or "very low" the "loading..." screen gone away and the sound changed but I got a black screen... All was freezed.

To test this demo go at: http://frictionalgames.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=685

I've not tested with mesa-git (BTW I could), but only with 6.5.2 (ubuntu feisty patched version recompiled under edgy) and I found this behavior...
I can't attach anything for helping, how can I debug?
Should I install the debug libraries and then running the game using gdb or X itself?

Finally there's some progress on this bug. Looks like this game requires occlusion query support. I've managed to run and play a little with my OQ branch
from http://cgit.freedesktop.org/~osiris/mesa/
It works for me on RV535 and RV380 (non TCL cards like RS480 or RS690 aren't supported yet).

Could you try it?

Closing due to lack of user feedback, also the game works for me on mesa 7.6.
