Description network723 2018-07-02 09:10:00 UTC
A webgl page freezes entire desktop, with no way to gracefully recover. Just open this link in chromium (with webgl enabled): https://www.shadertoy.com/view/XstBzM

RX480 + Mesa git + LLVM 7.0 + linux 4.17, but other users report same happens with stable software versions
Comment 1 Dieter Nützel 2018-07-02 11:12:09 UTC
I can second this with

RX580 + Mesa git + LLVM 7.0 git + amd-staging-drm-next

The gfx fans spin up (big load on it) but no logs so far.

Ups, browser...

Konqueror Version 5.0.97
KDE Plasma Version 5.13.1
KDE Frameworks 5.47.0
Qt 5.11.1
Comment 3 Dieter Nützel 2018-07-09 00:32:02 UTC
Firefox 61.0, too.
Comment 4 Danylo 2018-07-11 20:13:20 UTC
Hangs perfectly with:
R9 380x + Mesa git (c0874947f1) + LLVM 7 + linux 4.17
Comment 5 Pierre-Eric Pelloux-Prayer 2019-05-20 16:06:55 UTC
Doesn't seem to hang the system anymore (RX580, mesa daa85a882, Linux 5.0).
