ah btw, it's a gma 950 chipset in a thinkpad t60 We've tested this with Debian unstable on a T60 and things seem to be fine. X server version 1.3 intel driver version 2.1.0 mesa version 6.5.2 kernel version 2.6.22 You may want to try a newer kernel or intel driver. last time i checked with intel 2.1.0, kernel 2.6.22.1, xorg-server 1.3.0 and mesa 7.0 the problem persisted. ezquake froze in 80% of the time i started it when i was in the game. i switched back to xf86-video-i810 for now and never had a lockup with that driver since the downgrade (about one or two weeks). in compiz some things work, some things cause locks. rotating the cube with the mouse almost always caused freezes. Bjorn, it seems the only diff between your environment and Keith's is the Mesa... Could you please downgrade mesa instead of intel driver 2.1.0 to see if this bug can be reproduced? in fact i didn't get any locks with intel driver 2.1.1, mesa 7.0.1 and xorg-server 1.4 anymore. i only get some lockups after exiting the x server, but those are very rare now too. opengl works pretty fine for me at last :) Since the new driver is working for you, I'm closing this bug. |
