Logs and various information

This bug may be a duplicate of 109440, kernel versions are different though.

When I log into GDM I get a black screen for few seconds that gets me back to GDM unless I chose Wayland (which doesn't seem to use amdgpu-pro either according to lsmod).

AMD driver : amdgpu-pro-18.50-725072-ubuntu-18.04
Kernel version : 4.18.0-15-generic #16~18.04.1-Ubuntu SMP

All information required in https://amdgpu-install.readthedocs.io/en/latest/install-bugrep.html have been attached.

I have noticed that the compilation failed (install-log.txt line 1745) thereforce I have included /var/lib/dkms/amdgpu/18.50-725072/build/make.log which shows multiple errors.

If you need anything else, please ask.

Yes we are aware of this issue, it will be resolved in 19.10 release.

I will consult the team about backporting to 18.50 if possible.

If I understand the root cause correct, the workaround solution should be disabling HWE on ubuntu 18.04 until 19.10 is released. By default, I believe 18.04.2 has this enabled on a fresh install, but a system updated from 18.04.1 to 18.04.2 will not have it enabled unless explicitly enabled.
